A 49-year-old man presented with complaints of a urinary stream that seems to be slowing down. He started noticing this about a year ago. He has to strain to empty. A cystoscopy revealed a nearly pinpoint bulbar urethral stricture. A retrograde urethrogram revealed a 1.5 cm bulbar urethral stricture. He has no other medical problems and does not recall any specific history of urethral instrumentation or exposure to sexually transmitted infections. He does recall a straddle injury he sustained while doing yard work a few years ago, but his discomfort was limited and he did not seek medical care at that time.
