An otherwise healthy 40-year-old woman was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). She has been suffering from long-standing pain and pressure in the pelvic area and 15 voids a day due to pain. A comprehensive workup (including cystoscopy, which was normal) ruled out potential competing diagnoses (eg, recurrent urinary tract infection, neurogenic bladder, multiple sclerosis).
