Drug for Advanced RCC Improves PFS

CHICAGO—An investigational drug called axitinib is more effective than sorafenib in prolonging progression-free survival (PFS) in patients previously treated for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC), according to data presented at the 47th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

CHICAGO—Prostate cancer (PCa) patients on androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and receiving sipuleucel-T (Provenge) have no adverse outcomes in terms of quality of life (QoL), according to study findings presented at the 47th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

RP Beats PADT for Survival

BALTIMORE—Primary androgen deprivation therapy (PADT) does not prolong survival as much as radical prostatectomy (RP) among men with localized prostate cancer (PCa), a new retrospective analysis has confirmed.
