Does insurance type influence PCa expectant management decisions?
Data showed that patients diagnosed with PCa in 2011 were 2.5 times more likely to receive EM than those diagnosed in 2004. The study also found that patients receiving care at comprehensive cancer centers and patients who have personal health insurance were significantly less likely to receive EM.
The study authors noted that the finding that hospital type and insurance provider predicted EM usage calls into question whether non-clinical factors influence EM selection. Renal & Urology News would like to ask urologists the following poll question.
