Researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston report that elderly end-stage renal disease patients using catheters for dialysis may have the highest risk of dying prematurely compared with patients using other types of vascular access.
The investigators conducted a study that included 115,000 dialysis patients older than 66 years.
