Blacks and Older Renal Transplant Candidates are Less Likely to Receive a Living Donor Organs

In this installment of The Medical Minute, John Schieszer reports on a study of 67,000 patients showing that African Americans (compared with those of other races) and individuals aged 60 years and older (compared with those younger than 40 years) have a lower likelihood of recruiting potential living donors and of receiving living donor kidney transplants if they had potential donors.
