The U.S. Supreme Court recently upheld President Obama’s national health law (popularly referred to as “Obamacare”), including the most controversial part: the individual mandate requiring every American to have health insurance. Under the law, millions of individuals who do not have private or public health coverage would be required to buy coverage. It is thought that will help bring down the cost of insurance premiums. The law also prohibits insurance companies from denying health coverage because of pre-existing conditions.
