The presidential election is six and a half months away. A recent CNN Poll of Polls found that, on average, 47% of registered voters favor Obama and 45% back former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, a statistical dead heat. Results from the first Gallup daily tracking of registered voters (April 11-15) showed that Romney is supported by 47% of voters and Obama by 45%. Both candidates are supported by 90% of their respective partisans, according to Gallup.
