In a recently published a paper in Urologia Internationalis, Italian investigators published findings of a systemic review of the medical literature from 1995 to 2011 showing that saturation prostate biopsies improve the prostate cancer (PCa) detection rate and accurately predict tumor volume and grade in men with an initial negative biopsy and persistent suspicion of PCa.

Although the number and location of the cores to be obtained during a saturation biopsy as well as the timing of a second biopsy are still a matter of debate, Renal & Urology News would like to ask urologists the following question.

How often do you perform a saturation biopsy in patients you have identified as candidates for a second prostate biopsy?
