Potentially, millions of Americans could take advantage of these exchanges and buy coverage, many with the help of federal subsidies based on family income.
This also could mean millions more people seeking health care that they could not afford previously, thus increasing physician caseloads. Recent news articles report that many physicians are concerned that they will be paid less because insurance companies will be under pressure to keep premiums affordable.
