Nathalie Tufenkji, PhD, and colleagues at McGill University in Québec found that a phenolic rich extract from maple syrup (PRMSE) can increase the potency of commonly used antibiotics, ciprofloxacin and carbencillin, against Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
