A European study revealed no link between dietary fat intake and the risk of prostate cancer, according to a report in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2008;87:1405-1413).
The study included 142,520 men who participated in the European Prospective Investigation in Cancer and Nutrition. After a median follow-up of 8.7 years, prostate cancer was diagnosed in 2,727 men.

The researchers found no significant difference in prostate risk between the highest and lowest quintile of dietary fat intake.
