Eric A. Klein, MD, a thought leader in the biology and management of prostate cancer, has been appointed chairman of the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute. His clinical area of interest is urologic oncology, including cancers of the prostate, bladder, testis and kidney. He also is highly regarded for his surgical finesse in reconstructive procedures.
He has served as interim chair of the institute since the passing of Andrew Novick, MD, in October 2008. Previously, Dr. Klein served as director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Research and director of the Center for Urologic Oncology in the institute.
Dr. Klein has authored nearly 300 scientific articles and currently serves as editor-in-chief of Urology. He is a frequent lecturer and visiting professor and he holds many leadership roles including president-elect of the Society of Urologic Oncology and Prostate Organ Site Chair for the Southwest Oncology Group.

Dr. Klein will continue to hold a faculty appointment as professor of surgery within the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and has been on staff at Cleveland Clinic since 1989.
