Nearly 25% of type 2 diabetic men in the Action for Health in Diabetes study reported having complete erectile dysfunction (ED), according to an article in The Journal of Sexual Medicine (2009;6:1414-1422).

Almost half reported suffering from mild to moderate ED. Older age, higher baseline hemoglobin A1c, and the presence of hypertension and metabolic syndrome increased ED risk, whereas cardiorespiratory fitness reduced the risk.
