In a study of 206 women who underwent the TVT procedure, the overall cure rate at 13 years was 82.5% and the overall satisfaction rate was 67.5%, according to Phil Hyun Song, MD, and colleagues at Yeungnam University in Daegu, Korea.
At 1 year follow-up after surgery, 21 patients (10.2%) had post-operative complications. At 13-year follow-up after surgery, however, only 3 patients (1.5%) had post-operative complications, including mesh exposure in 1 patients and de novo urgency in 2. Multivariate analysis found no independent risk factors associated with cure and satisfaction.

The authors concluded that their study findings suggest that TVT can be recommended for the management of female SUI.
