Statement of Need: Treatment of BPH-related LUTS has evolved from surgical therapy to medical monotherapy, and now combination therapy. Urologists and support staff who treat patients with BPH need to be aware of current combination therapy protocols in the management of male LUTS.

Target Audience: This activity has been designed to meet the needs of urologists, and allied healthcare clinicians who treat patients with bladder outlet obstruction.

Educational Objectives: After completing the activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Assess treatment options in males with benign prostatic hyperplasia, based on severity of voiding symptoms.
  • Identify varying oral agents used in the management of bladder outlet obstruction.
