Statement of Need: Although adrenal masses are often discovered incidentally, onlyappropriate evaluation can establish these neoplasms as insignificant. Indeed, some data suggestthat more than 15% of lesions may require resection. As such, modern management of so-calledadrenal incidentalomas pivots on informed and individualized treatment choices.
Target Audience: This activity has been designed to meet the needs of urologists,nephrologists, and allied healthcare clinicians who treat patients with adrenal tumors.
Educational Objectives: After completing the activity, the participant should be betterable to:
- Evaluate the best way to estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in the current era.
- Identify situations when confirmatory tests for GFR are appropriate.
- Define the advantages and disadvantages of all GFR estimates.
