Asthma/COPD:

Indications for: Terbutaline Sulfate

Asthma. Chronic bronchitis. Emphysema.

Adult Dosage:

12–15yrs: 2.5mg 3 times daily at 6 hour intervals. >15yrs: 2.5–5mg 3 times daily at 6 hour intervals.

Children Dosage:

Not recommended.

Terbutaline Sulfate Warnings/Precautions:

Not for management of preterm labor. Avoid excessive use. Diabetes. Cardiac disease. Hypertension. Hyperthyroidism. Seizure disorders. If subject to hypokalemia, monitor potassium. Pregnancy (Cat.B). Nursing mothers.

Terbutaline Sulfate Classification:

Beta-2 agonist.

Terbutaline Sulfate Interactions:

Avoid other sympathomimetics (except aerosol bronchodilators), MAOIs, tricyclics. Antagonized by β-blockers.

Adverse Reactions:

Tachycardia, palpitations, nervousness, tremor, headache, drowsiness, nausea.
