Allergies:

Indications for: Hydroxyzine HCl

Allergic pruritus.

Adult Dosage:

25 mg 3–4 times daily.

Children Dosage:

<6yrs: 50mg daily. ≥6yrs: 50–100mg daily. Both in divided doses.

Hydroxyzine HCl Contraindications:

Early pregnancy. Allergy to cetirizine or levocetirizine.

Hydroxyzine HCl Warnings/Precautions:

Elderly. Nursing mothers: not recommended.

Hydroxyzine HCl Classification:

Antihistamine.

Hydroxyzine HCl Interactions:

Potentiates CNS depression with alcohol, other CNS depressants (eg, narcotics, non-narcotic analgesics, barbiturates); reduce dose of these agents.

Adverse Reactions:

Drowsiness, dry mouth, tremor, convulsions.
