CKD Affects Beneficial Intestinal Microbes

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) appears to change the composition of intestinal bacterial microbes that normally play a crucial role in fighting off disease-causing pathogens and maintaining micronutrient balance. John Schieszer reports in today's Medical Minute that the new findings suggest CKD patients may need to make some dietary changes.
