Biomarker Could Identify Candidates for PCa Active Surveillance


The level of expression of three genes associated with aging may be used to predict whether seemly low-risk prostate cancer (PCa) will remain slow-growing, according to a new study.

John Schieszer reports in today's Medical Minute using this three-gene biomarker, in conjunction with existing cancer-staging tests, could help urologists better determine which men with early PCa can be safely followed with active surveillance.
