Dietary fiber intake has no association with prostate cancer risk, according to a study of 142,590 men in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition.

During an average follow-up of 8.7 years, prostate cancer was diagnosed in 2,747 men. The incidence of prostate cancer did not vary according to dietary fiber consumption.

Findings appear in the International Journal of Cancer (2008; published online ahead of print).
