Studies have shown that one of the top reasons people search the Internet is to find information about medical problems and treatments. While many sites provide reliable information, researchers have found that a lot of sites provide information that is unsubstantiated or incorrect. In any case, physicians are likely to encounter patients who initiate discussions based on information gleaned from the Internet.
