Do you have any patients who acquired a kidney transplant abroad?

More than 90,000 kidney transplant candidates are on transplant waiting lists in the U.S., according to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network.

The median waiting time for a kidney transplant can be more than 5 years, depending on race or ethnicity. Not wanting to wait that long, some patients travel outside the U.S. to places such as China, India, or Pakistan, where they could get a kidney transplant faster, perhaps because of less strictly enforced laws against buying organs.
