Using a 20% sample of national Medicare claims, Anne M. Suskind, MD, of the University of California San Francisco, found that the number of physicians who performed neuromodulation test procedures increased 4-fold from 2005 to 2010, according to an online report in Urology. The average rates of procedures increased significantly from 4.0 to 6.4 procedures per physician per year, but the rates of device implantation remained stable.
