Legumes May Lower PCa Risk

A recent study of 82,483 men found that those with the highest intake of legumes had an 11% reduced risk of prostate cancer and a 26% reduced risk of nonlocalized or high-grade cancer.

Researchers observed no risk reduction associated with intake of isoflavones, however.

 

These findings appear in the International Journal of Cancer (2008;123:927-932).
