Role of Testosterone in Heart Risk Unclear

A clinical review of studies published from 1970 to 2013 suggests that men with low testosterone levels may be at slightly increased risk of developing or dying from cardiovascular disease.

The analysis, by Johannes B. Ruige, MD, PhD, of Ghent University Hospital in Belgium, and colleagues, revealed that testosterone replacement therapy had no beneficial effect on cardiovascular health, according to a report in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
