Blacks Less Likely To Get a Living Donor Kidney

African Americans are less likely to receive a kidney from a living donor at all 275 transplant centers in the United States, according to a study published in the American Journal of Kidney Diseases (2012;59:849-857).

These patients had 35% lower odds of receiving such a donation at centers with the least racial disparity and 76% lower odds at centers with the most disparity.
