Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA) announced today that has changed the name of its dialysis division to Fresenius Kidney Care.

“At FMCNA, we are building a comprehensive network to provide the full spectrum of care for the chronically ill, including those with renal disease,” FMCNA CEO Ron Kuerbitz said in a press release. “The Fresenius Kidney Care name underscores the focus and attention that our caregivers provide to our patients' unique health needs at more than 2,200 dialysis centers across the nation.”

Fresenius Kidney Care simultaneously launched a new, consumer website Freseniuskidneycare.com. Consumers can find information on dialysis options, including at-home peritoneal dialysis, at-home hemodialysis (HD), and in-center HD. For help deciding which option is best for patients, the site offers a chart of lifestyle factors to consider, such as whether patients need help performing manual tasks or prefer the companionship of a pet during dialysis treatment.

Patients and caregivers also have access to inspiring stories, tips on eating and living well on dialysis, and recipes.
