Wrinkles, Renal Disease Linked?

Severe facial wrinkles may be a marker for decreased renal function, according to researchers in Seoul, Korea.

In a study of 264 adults aged 30 years and older, those with severe wrinkles had lower estimated glomerular filtration rates and higher levels of oxidative stress, independent of age, gender, and other established risk factors, according to a report in Nephrology (2008; published online ahead of print).
